All Canadian Businesses Qualify
All businesses qualify. Your company can have 1 employee or many employees. Small to medium sized businesses benefit most.
Corporations
Canadian registered Corporations and Partnerships qualify. Currently there are no restrictions on the number of corporate employees. All employees of the company must be offered the plan. The Employer determines classes and annual coverage limits for each class.
Sole Proprietors
Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has imposted limitations on the annual covarage amounts for Sole Proprietors. Currently these limitations are $1,500 per annum for each family member who has reached the age of 18, and $750 per annum for family members under the age of 18. These amounts are combined to determine a family total benefit amount. The amounts can be allocated as the family determines. Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) currently determines that sole propretorships are not in itself a legal entity for the offering of this plan; therefore, to qualify for a Private Health Services Plan (PHSP) the sole proprietor must have at least one employee other then themselves. |
